I do a bit of Search Engine Optimization at my menial job, which has taught me a few things about internet traffic and pageviews.

As such, I've observed that my most favorited deviations are either of adorable animals, or Matt getting stabbed in the twig and berries with a lance.

This had led me to believe that the majority of DA users are sadistic 14 year old girls.

...Which, parenthetically, explains quite a bit about this little artistic/social network of ours.

I swear, my most favorited deviation is some melodramatic JTHM fanart that I did half-jokingly, 5 or 6 years ago. The fact that it's so popular when I have so much else that's so much better makes me want to just take it down. I also see this as support for your 14-year-old-girl theory.
